My research interests are within electronic publishing, digital mathematical libraries, math digitization and information retrieval, gait recognition, natural language processing. In particular, language issues in quality typesetting, engineering of electronic publishing and digitization projects and machine learning [by competing patterns].

Even though I am an introvert, I do teach at the Department of Computer Graphics and Design of Faculty of Informatics, Masaryk University, Brno. Electronic Document Preparation, Introduction to Information Retrieval, and other topics. I have founded Faculty Film Festival with methods of constructive teaching.
I am TeX advocate, CSTUG president since 2010 (I was also president during 1995--2000), and board member of TUG, TeX Users Group worldwide (1997--2000). I was MKM trustee (2008--2011).
I participated in projects of DML-CZ, and EuDML. I have founded DML workshop series Towards a Digital Mathematics Library (since 2012 DML it is conference track at CICM: DML 2018, DML 2017, DML 2016, DML 2015, DML 2014, DML 2013, DML 2012, DML 2011, DML 2010, DML 2009, DML 2008.
