Software Systems and Services Management (SA100)
- The main purpose of the internship is to gain real work experience.
- For successful completion of the internship you will receive 16 credits (15 + plus 1 credit for completion).
- In the SA100Reg and SA100 course materials you will find both sample documents and an "Important Information" folder where we list all deadlines and conditions of the internships.
To successfully complete your internship, you must complete the following sub-steps:
- Write down the subject SA100Reg
- Find an internship
- Submit an internship proposal
- Write down the subject SA100
- Submit the protocol of acceptance
- Submit interim documentation
- Notify us of the end of your internship and upload your final documents
Internship Terms and Conditions
- During your internship you can work in areas such as business process management, business process analysis, software testing through web interface and application development and management, UX, UI or graphic design, implementing strategies for online marketing or completely custom projects, shadowing a SCRUM master or project manager.
- The scope of the internship is a minimum of 400 hours, the entire internship takes place in one organization and must not last longer than 1 year.
- You must complete the SA100Reg registration course before starting the internship.
- Entry to the internship is possible at any time within 1 year of approval of the internship proposal.
- The internship can be completed 100% in a home office format.
- You must have a supervisor in the company who meets the requirement of having a university degree in a technical field and a minimum of three years of experience in a related field since graduation.
Recommendations
- Start looking approximately 3 months in advance. If you don't know, keep an eye on the FI MU Industrial Partners Association and the Job Postings folder in the Course Materials, sign up for JobCheckIN, the jobs site, Indeed, LinkedIn, and more.
- Submit all documents on time. Failure to meet deadlines may have a negative impact on the internship process.
- We recommend combining two responsibilities into one, and writing a final thesis at the company in addition to the internship. Some of the most experienced and accommodating companies in this regard are Red Hat, InQool, Oracle and Monet+.
- You can also do your internship abroad and take advantage of Erasmus and other programs, or as a freemover - your own agreement and finances.
FAQ
What about SA100 and SA100Reg courses and their enrolment?
Register for SA100Reg during the course registration period. You will find an internship within this course and submit an internship proposal. Once the internship proposal is approved, you will receive credit.
Register for the SA100 Internship course during the registration period of the semester in which you wish to complete the internship and receive credit. However, you may start your internship before enrollment or immediately after the internship proposal is approved.
Which documents need to be submitted and when?
- Internship proposal - at least 14 days before the intended start date.
- Internship acceptance report - at least 14 days after the start of the internship.
- Interim documents (statement of work and interim report) - between 40 and 50% of hours worked.
- Final documents - after you have worked the mandatory part (400 hrs), you will notify us that you are done with the internship and you will turn in your work report within 3 days. You will turn in the other final documents (completion report, final report and video presentation) no later than 10 days before the end of the exam period in the semester in which you want to receive credit and credits.
Do I have to choose only from CAP member companies?
No, however, we recommend that you subscribe to the SPP newsletter. You can find an internship at any company or part of a company that deals with IT.
Can I work on a self-employed basis?
Unfortunately no. Accepted legal forms of internship are DPP/DPP, HPP (full or part-time) or Internship Agreement or Student Temporary Work Agreement.
