The date of the alternative enrolment is set for 3 - 4 September 2024.

MU Information System and ISIC card

Almost all administration at our faculty can be handled online - via the Information System (we call it IS). Registering for courses, registering for exams, confirming your studies, communicating with teachers, downloading study materials - you can do all this from any computer. The IS is very intuitive, yet we have prepared a manual for you for better orientation.

How to log in to the Information System - IS

You log into the IS after enrolling in your studies at https://is.muni.cz using your University Person Number (UPN) and password.

You have already obtained your ID number during enrolment. It will accompany you throughout your studies and don't worry, you will soon know it backwards.

You set up your password when you enrolled online. It's secret, don't give it to anyone! Any operation performed based on the entry of your password is considered uniquely authenticated and has binding validity, just like operations made in person or in writing at the administrative offices of the college and university.

Help

Confirmation of studies

You can print your own confirmation of study in the Information System. The electronic study certificate is a full version of the study certificate printed on paper, stamped and signed by the responsible person.

You will not be able to download the electronic study certificate yourself, nor will the study department issue you with a paper study certificate, without this identification. Therefore, please make the identification as soon as possible.

Useful links

University e-mail

Each student has an e-mail box in IS with an address in the form UČO@mail.muni.cz. This address is functional even after setting up a nickname. Electronic communication is the preferred form of communication at MU. Please communicate with us via this official university e-mail. (Please do not write to us from private e-mail addresses.)

Monitoring of university mail is mandatory. This is the address where you receive important messages from the faculty administration and the study department. The system also sends out information such as newly assigned grades, messages from instructors, etc. You can also download mail to your home computer or forward it to another stable mailbox. Notification of a new message is displayed on the front page of the IS. Empty your mailbox regularly; if your mailbox is overflowing, you will not be able to send mail.

If you use reliable email elsewhere, you can redirect your message reception there. See the help to learn more about forwarding mail or choosing a nickname.

Student ID

Every MU student must have a student ID card, which can serve as a chip card within the university, and in the case of the ISIC card it also allows you to benefit from various student discounts.

The card can be ordered from the Business Centre in the IS (OC):

  • First year students do not pay for the ISIC card. It is provided to them free of charge by the Faculty of Informatics.
  • First year students (including continuing students) do not purchase a sticker.
  • When ordering an ISIC for 0 CZK or a re-sticker for 0 CZK, please ignore the status of your order NOT PAID.

Once the card is produced, students will receive pick-up instructions via email. As a condition for the card to be issued, the amount for the card must be credited to your MU account (OC-My Orders).
