Software Engineering
Software systems are increasingly underpinning most human activities, which increases the emphasis on the quality of their design, development, testing, deployment and operation. Software engineering brings together the skills, techniques and tools to systematically support these activities with an emphasis on the guaranteed quality of the resulting software system. The goal of the degree program is to increase students' competencies in software engineering, including an understanding of the deeper context required when working on large-scale software projects where individual software development decisions have a critical impact on the quality and viability of the resulting system and the services it provides. A significant practical training component is an integral part of the student's preparation, both in software development and functioning within software teams, including team leadership. These competencies are necessary to meet the entry requirements of the intended job roles. Students will acquire practical skills mainly through internships in companies, but also by leading software projects of younger classmates from the Bachelor's degree.
Candidates choose one of the specialisations Deployment and Operation of Software Systems or Design and Development of Software Systems.

In the study catalogue you will find lists of required and elective courses and a recommended course of study.
The Software Engineering degree program is designed as a professional program and an internship is required by law. In this program, students complete a mandatory internship of 10 weeks/400 hours in one semester.
Specialisation
Specialisations are curricula that set out the conditions for completion of a degree, such as compulsory courses.
Deployment and Operation of Software Systems
This specialization emphasizes the design of a quality infrastructure for operating a software system and the ability to link software development to its deployment into operations (including the design of secure infrastructure, computer networks, cloud computing, UNIX administration).
Design and development of software systems
This specialization emphasizes the design of quality software architecture and skills in programming and software development per se (including user interface design, secure programming principles, data analytics).
