About our company

In our R&D centre in Brno we have about 100 employees from the ranks of software, firmware, hardware, cybersecurity and test engineers. We devote ourselves to the end-to-end development of high-tech medical technology that helps surgeons all over the world save human lives through safe, minimally invasive surgeries.

We are a leader in medical technology, particularly in medical visualization, video processing and wireless imaging solutions for endoscopic procedures. We develop devices for minimally invasive procedures such as insufflators and pumps that make surgeons' operations significantly easier.

Our main products:

• insufflators and pumps for minimally invasive surgery
• laser heads, etc.
• machine vision in healthcare (smart cameras, barcode scanners, etc.)
• video signal routers, wireless screens for operating rooms, etc.

How we work:

We offer engineers and developers the opportunity to work in a small agile team on highly sophisticated devices. The technologies we use the most for desktop application development are C, C++, C# and Python programming languages. For HW development we use VHDL or Altium. We have Windows OS on our workstations and our products run on Linux. We use Git, Jenkins, Confluence, Jira, Azure DevOps. We have 2 weekly sprints, code review and retrospectives.

We also regularly take part in job fairs for students and organise open days, called Tech Meet-ups, once a year.

About cooperation

• We have been cooperating with FI MU for several years as an SME partner.
• Within the framework of the cooperation we participate in the assignment of the topics of final bachelor and master theses and we also lead these theses.
• We also offer students paid internships, i.e. the opportunity to gain valuable experience while working part-time, enabling them to study at the same time. After graduation, there is the possibility to work here further on a full-time basis.
• We participate in meetings with industry partners, where you can visit us at our booth to learn more about our products, technologies and employment opportunities. We would be happy to have a non-binding chat with you.

Novanta about MU FI graduates:

The Faculty of Computer Science is able to equip students well with knowledge of SW engineering and programming languages for practice, students can design algorithms and generally find solutions to non-standard problems. They also come equipped with experience with the git versioning system. Some of our colleagues have also capitalized on their knowledge of machine learning and image processing to work with embedded devices, such as machine vision.
